Preface: A stuffy nose makes it hard to sleep
When the weather turns cold or during seasonal changes, it's uncomfortable to have a stuffy nose and a闷闷的 head. Taking medicine worries about side effects, but not taking it makes it hard to sleep. In fact, there is a gentle helper in the kitchen and medicine cabinet - eucalyptus essential oil. Today, I share a simple and practical home remedy to help you breathe smoothly and warm up.

Who is this remedy suitable for?
Applicable symptoms: nasal congestion, sinus pressure, a feeling of pressure on the forehead or cheeks, especially discomfort after a cold or in dry air. Note: This is only for mild discomfort. If the symptoms are severe or persist for a long time, please see a doctor.
Materials needed
- Eucalyptus essential oil (pure plant extract, available at pharmacies or natural food stores)
- A bowl of hot water (about 60 degrees, not too hot to touch)
- A dry towel
Method: Three-Minute Steam Bath
1. Pour the hot water into a large bowl and add 3-5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil.
2. Lean your head over the bowl, cover your head and the bowl with a towel to form a small steam tent.
3. Close your eyes, breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth for 5-10 minutes.
4. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening each day, changing to fresh hot water each time.
Why is it effective?
Eucalyptus essential oil has a cool fragrance, combined with the steam from the hot water, which helps to soothe the nasal passages and relieve the stuffy feeling. The hot water itself can warm the body and promote blood circulation, consistent with the traditional Chinese medicine principle that "warmth promotes flow, coldness causes stagnation." When the nose is clear and breathing is smooth, the whole body becomes balanced and comfortable.
Give your body some gentle care
This method is not complicated, yet it embodies the wisdom of nature: following the body's needs, using warmth and fragrance to regulate, rather than forcing symptoms. When congested, keeping the body warm, drinking warm water, and going to bed early will be more effective.
