Introduction

Have you been sitting all day and now your back and waist feel sore and stiff? Don't worry, no need to go to the gym or use any equipment. Who is this tip suitable for?

If you often sit for long periods and feel stiffness in your back and shoulders, or if you want to improve your posture and make your joints more flexible, this exercise is perfect for you. It's gentle, carries almost no risk, and is very friendly for middle-aged and elderly people. As long as you can sit steadily on a chair, you can practice it.

How to do the movement? Follow these steps

Step 1: Find a sturdy chair, sit on the front edge of the chair, feet firmly on the ground, knees at about 90 degrees. Keep your back straight, and gently place your hands on your thighs.
Step 2: Inhale, slowly lengthen your spine, feeling as if your head is being gently pulled upward by a string.
Step 3: Exhale, slowly turn your upper body to the left, place your right hand on the outer side of your left thigh, and gently support the back of the chair with your left hand. Remember to keep your hips still, only turning your back and shoulders.
Step 4: Maintain even breathing, hold for three to five breaths, feeling the stretch on both sides of your spine. Then inhale back to the center, and repeat on the other side.
Repeat each side three to five times. The whole process should be like slow motion, without forcing yourself.

What benefits does it bring to your body?

This simple twisting motion gently activates the meridians and muscles around the spine, promotes blood circulation, and helps to circulate qi and blood. With regular practice, you will find your back and waist feel much lighter, your shoulders and neck are less tense, and your sitting posture becomes naturally more upright. It follows the natural range of motion of the body, emphasizing balance between movement and stillness, without forced stretching or exertion. Spend just a few minutes every day, and give your body a gentle relaxation.

Summary

A chair, one movement, practice it at home every day, and flexibility will return without you realizing it. Remember, going slowly is faster than rushing. Enjoy this quiet moment of self-care.
